Steam couplings EN 14423/ DIN 2826

STANDARD

Steam couplings complying with EN 14423/ DIN 2826 are available in female and

male threaded screw couplings and in flange couplings. The screw couplings are

available in galvanized steel, stainless steel or brass. The flanged couplings are

available in galvanized steel or stainless steel.

OPERATION

Steam couplings complying with EN 14423 / DIN 2826 are used to assemble steem

hoses complying with EN ISO 6134. The serrated hose shank with collar is designed

to be assembled with RKS steam clamps complying with EN 14423 / DIN 2826.

Under no circumstances RK safety clamps complying with EN 14420-3 / DIN 2817

shall be used.

Compared with EN 14420-2 / DIN 2817-compliant smooth hose shanks, steam hose shanks complying with EN 14423 / DIN 2826 are serrated and are physically longer, larger and stronger. Due to the high temperature applications in which steam couplings are used, PTFE or novatec® PREMIUM II thread seals are used for the female threaded-couplings.

APPLICATION

For saturated steam and hot water applications.

N.B.: Steam is dangerous. Never use quick-release couplings for steam applications. Extra care and attention should be taken when choosing the correct hose, fitting and clamping solution.

WORKING PRESSURE

Working pressure: 18 bar / 261 psi with a temperature of 210°C / 410°F

Test pressure: 90 bar / 1305 psi

Burst pressure: 180 bar / 2611 psi

TEMPERATURE

Saturated steam: +210°C / 410 °F

Hot water: +120°C / 248°F

Hose, coupling, assembly method and seal must be chosen in relation with thedesired application and temperature range
